Hi all, In the process of doing some minor detailing on my set of Athearn/Globe F7's I'm looking for any photo's of UP F7's preferably late in their careers. This site. trainweb.org/mcnwr/upvintage Has been great for F9AM and GP7/9 pictures but nothing on F7's.
My memory is saying there are a couple in the book Union Pacific Northwest by Jeff Asay. I tried some searching on the 'Net. Such photos do seem to be scarce.
Some maybe usable photos here: http://flbtrain.smugmug.com/Railroads/UPRR/Union-Pacific-1950-1973/i-kpqDrBH
Eagle2, That smugmug link is great! Quite a few F9AM's but no F7's I can't believe that so few people bothered to take pictures of the F7's.
Glad to be of some assistance, and it's possible that the second site referenced may be more helpful for you.
Eagle2, I checked it out, good info as well. Still hunting for original 1400 series F7 pictures. Somewhere someone must have shot them. Still hoping I'll run across some B&W shots. Funny, I also model the NKP, there are thousands of NKP PA1 pictures and those were retired the same years as UP's F7's. I always thought the UP was just about the countries most photographed railroad.
This is the only photo I have spotted, so far, 1400 series: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=784886
