I just finished showing my home layout at the PNR regional convention in Regina. Here are a few photos of the Wascana Sherwood Line. Here's a view of the Sherwood grain terminal Another shot of the Sherwood A shot of the Wascana yard And another shot of the Wascana yard Sorry some of the up close shots aren't the best. Hope you like the update.
Thanks. The backdrop was painted by painting blue from the top and white paint from the bottom. I then blended the blue into the white while both were wet creating the effect you see in the photos.
I am interested in your comments so I thought I would move this post back up to the top in case you missed it. Thanks! [ 06 July 2002, 23:15: Message edited by: Grantha ]
Grant, Great looking layout! The way you did your backdrop is really cool. Question, are those the Wathers Grain Elevator kits?
No, they are scratch built from styrene. One is very similar to the Walthers grain elevator kit. The other was based on plans for a feed mill that was in Model railroader quite a few years ago. The terminal is the Walther ADM terminal with add on silos. [ 07 July 2002, 03:44: Message edited by: Grantha ]
Thanks for the nice comments. - The corners of the backdrop are coved. The backdrop was made using 1/8 inch hardboard and was easily curved around the corners. - Yes, the yard is two feet deep and about 12 feet long. - Here's a photo that shows a lot of the backdrop. Here in southern Saskatchewan the sky is the dominatant scenic feature. Our license plates all carry the slogan, "Land of the Living Skies".
