It's still a lot to do, but it begins to look like a layout... More here: http://www.heinepedersen.com/hyllebane
Boy oh boy! You have sure made some great progress in the past year! I really like the way you fit the castle in, and continued the road down the mountain. That is so cool! I have one of those castles too, but I don't know what I'm going to do with it. Keep up the great work! -Robert
Thanks. I guess the castle is not very prototypical for American layouts unless you are modeling Disneyworld...
Yes, I pulled my castle kit out of the box yesterday to look at. I think I have a module I can put it on. The only castle I know of in the US is Hearst Castle, but our castle does look better suited as a Disneyland castle. Still, I am planning on cutting down the base quite a bit, and blending it into a hillside on an end module for fun. -Robert
I actually went by Hearst Castle in October. I and a friend of mine was on a weeks roundtrip in California. But we hadn't got the time to wait for the guided tour to the castle, so we just watched it from the info center. We came in to Los Angeles on Saturday, and visited Pasadena Model Railroad Club, iHobbyExpo, Solvang, Monterey, San Francisco, Sacramento and the railroad museum, Tehachapi Loop, Death Valley, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon by helicopter, Hoover Dam, Barstow, Palm Springs and the Aeriel Tramway, San Diego and the Model Railroad Museum and back to Los Angeles after eight days and 2600 miles on the road in a rental car. Actually it feels like we were gone in severel weeks. It's incredible how much we managed to do in only eight days Here are all the pics from a very very intensive week: http://gleng.jernbane.st/cpg132/thumbnails.php?album=10
