Since most of my DCC stuff was packed up since 2000, I do not know what the power transformer for the UR91 looks like. I have used some other 12V DC converters with the UR91 but still cannot get the radio portion to function properly with my DT100R. If I plug in the DT100R into the front jack on the UR91, everything is ok. I disconnect the DT100R and it goes into radio mode as it supposed to. The green light on the UR91 shows that there is radio communication taking place. but nothing is happing on the loco net.

I am certain that either I am forgetting something simple (read the manual again and nothing jumped out at me) or it is a problem with the DC power converter.

    Anyone have any ideas??

The UR91 calls for a 12 VAC power source.

As this is an older UR91, it might require that a throttle be plugged in somewhere on the loconet to terminate it. I never had this problem but I frequently hear about it on the Digitrax Yahoo Group.

You might want to join the Digitrax Yahoo Group, there are a lot of members who are more knowledgable about Digitrax than I am.

Now that you mention it, I remember something aobut using the decoder tester to terminate wire 3 and 4 for this purpose. As far as the powe supply goes, I first tried a 12VAC power converter because it was packed in with some of my train gear, along with some older computer equipment, hence the confusion as what belongs to what. (When I packed this stuff, I did not think it would be five years later I would be unpacking it....I thought no more than 6 months to a year.).

I will try messing around with this again when I get home tonight.

I will look in the the Yahoo Group, thanks for the info

I did another search on google about this today and found a question that described the issue perfectly with a valid solution. What was funny is that I was the one that posted the question back in early 2000 [IMG] I had to laugh when I realized I just did a google on myself [IMG]

Anyways, here is the solution and yes, I am up and running with Radio...woohoo [IMG]

If you happen to have another throttle plug it into the LocoNet, if not make a small pigtail of an RJ12 jack and short cable, connect pins 3 and 4 together, cut of all other remaining wires, pins 1,2 5,6 make sure they can not short out. Now you will have only a RJ12 plug and a very short cable with just pins 3 and 4 connected together.

Plug this into the LocoNet at or close to the DCS200. Your radio should now work.
