I got my first one yesterday, I'm putting together a Christmas Train. I'm very impressed with the quality of these cars, the detail is stunning and priced at $63.99 it's a very good buy IMO. I already have the Christmas Cabose that I picked up at the ECTS. I will be buying the other two Overton cars to make the full set. They roll very nice on a 4ft. turn radius also.

While I love LGB, for the $$ USA Trains is hard to beat.

One question I have is are the Turbo Smoke Units still available, I want to install one in my LGB Stainz Loco? I can't seem to find them.

I don't have any Christmas cars but most of my other cars are USA trains. That's about the only thing I buy now. The detail on them are great.

TroyNJ, give DragonFyreGT a pm he could help you best with knowledge on the LGB stainz loco and tender. I know he has been doing some research and trying to find a reasonable stainz tender with no luck.

My stainz Loco has digital sound so i don't have a tender..I got my second USA Overton Christmas Car Today (Observation) and like it as much as my first one..All I need now is the last one and I'll have my christmas Train. I've decided i will be buying USA Trains only from here on out.

Beats my Stainz out. Mine doesn't even have a smoke unit at least not to the best of my knowledge. Still hunting for my tender atm. I'll do some research on it tonight and see if I can help with that.

I wanted to updrade my Stainz smoke Unit to one of the turbo smoke units but I've hit a dead end. it's pulling 10 cars currently and it's about maxed out, she doesn't like any grade at all with that load, for the size she is a good puller.

I got it as part of a starter set (sound & smoke), I also have another stainz but it doesn't even have a smoke unit, they are very easy to install but I probably won't.

After I get the Christmas train out of the way I will start to assemble a Daylight Train, it will be all USA Trains and it's gonna be a tad costly, now I have to break it gently to the wife. :)

I wish I could help, I disassembled my Stainz but it's one of the American starter sets from the 80s and doesn't have a smoke system in it. It does have the powered tender plugs in the back. But other then that I am Unfamiliar with LGB's smoke systems. I only own 2 of their locomotives, the smokeless stainz and an Electric locomotive. My search on google isn't turning up much either. I have an LGB Fanatic friend I'll ask tonight and see if he can help.
