One of the 21 car Eastbound Canadians shot between Kamloops, BC and Jasper, AB 15+ minutes of The Canadian. Long passenger trains in very nice scenery ... hard to beat that combination!
Hans-Joerg, not only do you operate a remarkable camera, but your sense of beauty, framing, and cinematography is outstanding. Thank you for sharing your creative abilities with us.
Thank you, Hytec! Once more the Canadian, this time Train#2 heading East at Hinton, AB Two freights headed West before #2 showed up. It was stay put and hope the sun won't set, yet, the clouds will keep moving and the bears are not yet on the prowl. And when #2 showed the sun was on the trestle and I could have danced ..... errr .... hmmm .... just remembered I'm a lousy dancer. :uhoh:
That's a nice video, and a lovely scenic area (except for the quarry). I did not realize the capability of your camera's lens until the end when you fully backed the zoom. The clarity of resolution over its entire range of zoom is very impressive. Did the lens system come with the camera, or did you add it after market?
It is a standard off-the-shelf Panasonic HDC-TM90. The only lens that is available as an accessory is the one which converts it to 3-D capability. I didn't buy that yet. We still have a TV that dates back to 1990; IOW HD or 3-D is still in the future. I'm always waiting for the price point and the features set to match up at the "sweet spot". hboy:
*Sigh* I'd wish to be sitting in one of those dome cars! Those trains just look classy. If only our Amtrak stuff was so nice to see rolling past.
Are each of the Canadian's dome cars assigned to each of the specific class of passengers, or can you wander from dome to dome to find the best seats and views?
