Via baggage car 8610 on CN train 306 on 2005/03/18 This is the car that was hit by a logging truck several weeks ago. The car was built in 1954 and was aquired from Canadian Pacific. Media report of accident including a photo and map.
Another car from the same accident was on an eastbound CN freight on 2005/03/19 at Brighton Ontario. It was car 8136. 8136 was built by Budd in 1946 for the NYC, and had seen service with NYC 2919 (1946-1968), PC 2919 (1968-1974), Amtrak 5652 (1974-1988), CR 5652 (1988-1990) and Via from 1990. The car had 62 seats, and had been converted to head end power.
