I posted this a few weeks ago in the SP modelers Group right here on trainboard, but today when I was going to update it I realized I should have posted here So here's the link TrainBoard.com - SP era Oregon Videos Basically, I'm curious if there's any commercial video of the SP in Oregon. Diesel Era or Steam. All I've found so far is stuff on the Sisykous. I'm right now watching a Pentrex Video on the Shasta line. It only covers Redding to Grass Lake. It's really frustrating. I borrowed this video from my club. I have the Icon Video Granite series Shasta line tape and its the exact same. Redding to Grass lake. In fact, I'm pretty sure the Icon video is just this Pentrex video recut with a new voiceover. Grrr. Why no love for Oregon?
Part of the problem of course is that I'm watching Shasta line Videos, not Cascade line Videos, but I've still never seen such a video...at least not SP vintage.
There was a video by Trains Magazine on the Cascade Sub. Part of their "Trains, On Location" series of articles and videos in the early '90s. IIRC the video was released about '94 and has shots from the cab of Amtrak and various line side shots. The magazine article was the inspiration for my last layout(started it in '94).
Ooo, I'll have to look iknto it. I really want branch line footage and maybe stuff around beaverton. I wonder if there's oe footage.
