What did Virginia license plates look like in the 50s? I know that in 1953 they were blue but what I am after is what form of number / letter combination did they use. For example, in the 80s Minnesota used a format that was three letters a space and three numbers (RHK 123), then in the 90s it changed to three numbers space three letters (123 ESA).

I want to add license plates to my cars and trucks and I don't know what to put on them. Also, was there a license plate in the front and back of the car or just on the back?

Couldn't tell ya about whether they'd be on the front and back (but I'd assume so)... here's a great link to answer your question about 50's plates for VA - or any decade for that matter...
