I'm about to buy my first Walthers cars, a 12-pack of ore cars, and I was wondering how they are to work with. I plan on doing the Kadee couplers and wheels routine on them. I know Kadee does a slick and easy conversion with Athearn cars. Is it as easy with the Walthers cars? #5 couplers work O.K.? Is it easy to put #500 trucks on them? Mark
<font color="336633">Yeah I have converted several walthers cars, although none of the orecars, to kadee couplers and wheels or trucks. the Bettendorf Trucks should be an easy fit, but if like other walthers cars you might have to cut or file of the old truck locating spigot if it has one.</font>
I've heard that their similar to the Athearn cars for "pug & play" with the Kadee couplers and wheels. I just want to make sure they'll work O.K., as I'm thinking about picking up a 12-pack of UP ore cars. Thanks! Mark
