We visited the North Norfolk Railway on Sunday, for the annual WW2 Theme days A WD 2-10-0 locomotive had been brought in for the event, and many people were in period clothing, both military and civilian. The event was hugely popular, with very large crowds at all stations. Wartime posters, luggage trolleys, road vehicles and many military vehicles were on display. This is the WD 2-10-0 just arrived at Sheringham ready to take out our train [ 22. September 2003, 13:35: Message edited by: Alan ]

Lovely photos Alan, I can almost smell the smoke and hot oil! I'm fond of the NNR altho the J15 that pulled us is only about a third of the size of the Austerity! Ben
Yeah Ben, we had the Austerity from Sheringham to Holt and the J15 on the return, seen below at Holt. (Non-rail pictures of the event can be found in the Cattle Car) [ 22. September 2003, 19:08: Message edited by: Alan ]
Just curious- What does the designation "WD" mean. Talking about war, I'd almost guess "War Department?" Boxcab E50
