Can anyone tell me the origin and destination cities for the "Adirondack" train #4 circa 1946 and the "Water Level Limited" train #267 circa 1944?

I'll take a shot at it Larry. I can't say what No. 4 did in 1946, but from the April 1944 TT:
Adirondack Division, Train No. 4, Daily. Lv Montreal (Windsor Station) 6:25PM. Without giving times for each, the stops were Montreal West, Valleyfield, Malone, Loon Lake, Lake Kushaqua, Gabriels, Lake Clear Jct., Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, (Here it looks like a side trip to Saranac and Placid and return to Lake Clear Jct.), then Saranac Inn, Tupper Lake, Childwold, Horseshoe, Sabattis, Beaver River, Big Moose, Thendara, McKeever, Woodgate, Forestport, with arrival at Utica at 2AM.
Having been up through all that area when I lived back there, what a shame this was a night train, as the scenery is beautiful along that route.

From Table No. 12, Train No. 267, the Water Level Limited, Daily. Lv New York, GCT at 5PM. Stops at Harmon (swap electric for steam power), Albany, Schenectady, Utica, Syracuse, Rochester, arriving at Buffalo at 1:25AM. This train became No. 67 from Buffalo to Chicago. Had Pullman equipment and a dining car listed in consist. Blew through my home town of Little Falls around 9PM without stopping.

    Hope this helps. :tb-biggrin:
