    These are some random shots from Sunday's visit to the Waukegan yard, plus two older shots.

    I walked down the unused tracks for a closer look at the old sanding tower.

    Their ground throws use the same principle as the ones I bought for my layout! Cool!:cool:

    Judging by the sanding tower's position, there was at least one more parallel track here.

    Are you asking if the yard was once ran by the Milwaukee Road?
    I believe the yard was a C&NW yard as far back as the 1960's and UP is in control now.

    Well. folks want prototypical, so here you go. :)

    I failed to post the sign which reads, 'no playing on tracks while trains in operation'.

    Looks stupid. But it will be reflective like a stop or yield sign so if a crew is making a move at night they will be able to see it from a considerable distance and have plenty of warning so they don't hit the bumper at a high speed.
