Tompm, No red X's here. Maybe Railimages was down for a while? [ January 14, 2006, 10:52 PM: Message edited by: Pete Nolan ]
More work on my city block location. This is the second block with all those unpainted DPM buildings. That will keep me busy!
Wow, super photos as usual. Mike those pictures are just super. Well for me, it's finally done, all the track work is down. Finished the yard this afternoon. More importantly, it works. West entrance to the yard, Engine house and service area. The gray foundation is the footing of the engine house. The yard empty, stub track is the ice-house track. And with a few cars. Next will be about a week or so adding some power feeders, running to make sure everything works properly add the rest of the back board and some fascia on the west side. Might start in installing some foam by the end of January. [ January 15, 2006, 07:28 PM: Message edited by: sitchad ]
Layed some more track this week and worked on a bridge project also. Heres a couple of BAR all door lumber cars I built last winter taking a spin around the layout.
Mike I like your two new units, the EL one especially, hows that B-unit running. Great bunch of photos again everyone. John
Chad: The trackwork looks very nice. You've got that up and running rather quickly. Stay cool and run steam.......
That SD-70 is cool. The F-7B Runs Like a Kato, GRRREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again. BTW,if I make it to the Monster(I can't see why I wouldn't) I'll bring it with me,& its new playmates. Its now part of an ABBA set.
Bob, this first part did go pretty fast. About three weeks for bench work and all the track. I just really wanted to get the track down and tested so I could make sure it was as close to perfect as possible and make sure the track plan is what I expected. So far so good. Of course it helps to have a small layout. The Peco track is also very easy to work with and it looks pretty nice. Still trying to decide how and with what to paint it but I have time to figure that out. Now it's just go back, make sure everything so far is correct and proper and run trains. Of the engines I have I must admit I am not disappointed save for the Atherans. They all run very well and three or four running sounds very cool. I can tell just by listing where the GE's, Alco's or EMD's are. My only disappointment so far has been the Atheran Genesis F7's. The units are great but the sound is awful. I am waiting for the IM units to come out with sound and I'll make an ABBA set and just mute the Atheran sound. Guess I should start building some of the buildings I have? Glad winter is going to be around a bit longer.
John, Not so sure that is a good award? Thanks but this was the easy part. The rest requires artistic talent of which I lack. I'll do my best but we will see.
Chad: Take a look at pollyscale mineral red for the rails. You could also mix in some rail tie brown. I hope the Athearn 4-6-6-4 just announced by Athearn for n scale has decent sound. Stay cool and run steam.... [ January 15, 2006, 08:20 PM: Message edited by: Powersteamguy1790 ]

Chad, Building fast is a good award in my mind. I wish I could accomplish that much in that short a time. (smile)
