Grant, I really like the way the refelction off the water turned out. Looks like you are not having any trouble learning about all this new fangled digital photography stuff.
Steve, It's funny what the eye perceives and what the brain interprets. I am "color-deficient," but not color-blind. Yet I am the best guy on the block for interpreting color shifts. I guess I see what I see, and have made adjustments that others haven't made. For many years, I was sadddled with very poor vision, even with glasses. I learned to adapt. LASIK changed that for me. I realize that LASIK may not change anything for you. It has not given me the sharpness of vision that many people take for granted. My retina has about 1/10th the functioning cones and rods of a normal retina, at a rough estimation. So I can see sharply, but not at the definition of others. So I do not think it odd at all that you can see what others think you cannot see.
Pete - We might well have the same night and color vision issues, (which is why I love bright colored trains like the CP and high contrast colors like the GN Orange / Olive and BAR - Red / Grey. I have "Retinites Pigmentosa" (I'll fix spelling tomorrow), This is due to a lack of rods and cones from the outside of the eye inwards. In basic terms = Tunnel Vision with shades of color issues and complete night blindness. As for acuity, um, well, let's just say it _sucks_
Another note about vision that might help people percieve the world around them and take better photos. This is not in the photography books: On a techniccal level: You do not "see" pure black You simply see what is _around_ it. On the surface this is just symantics. However it is the issue I pointed out about the tender obscuring the detail on the front end of your New Haven loco. It is sorta like understanding that:' Objects do not become cold. They give up heat. Hope this helps.
Grey One, I do not have Retinitis Pigmentosa. I have something else, which has not been named yet. It is probably a milder form of that condition, and probably genetic in nature. There are many studies ongoing.
Russel - Gotta love technollogy - Nice photos. Pete - I got lucky. They reconized RP about the time I entered high school. It is a ressesive gene. Can you imagine a person with tunnel vision driving in Massachusettes? Oh, wait, they all drive like that here.

You are correct Russell the Frisco had two like the one Katy had. There were also thru cars from the Pensy that were painted like the Texas Special except they had shadow lines. Mike
Mike, I was just teasing yah. I painted up an N scale Texas Special. I even painted up a PRR 10-6 in shadow lines.
