I've made another video - look at my video site. This time the subject was the Shay. Enjoy it. Wolfgang
This too is an oldie. However, this weekend I started making trees so the scene in the back corner is going to change for the better.
Speaking of trees.....9 down, 1991 to go. They range from just under 4" to 6-1/2". It took a total time of 2-1/2 to 3 hours to build. Now I just gotta plant 'em.
This is an older first or second-run Kato SD40-2 I had for a few years. Details used are all from BLMA. -Modern coupler-lift bar -MU Hoses -Trainline hose -Cabshades -Rearview Mirror -Grabirons -Rear fan curved-grabiron *custom-bent drop-grabiron on snowplow Donnell M. Wells
Spent the weekend railfanning with my oldest son. We caught some ex BN SD40-2s among other things............
River; since you were so nice as to plug the Van Buren Sub on one of your covers, I have been working on a cover shot. this is an early version with much more scenery to go
Nice work, I feel your pain though, while watching the jaws marathon yesterday on encore, I made 250 trees, and it wasn't even a dent in what i need to fill the layout. p.s. I raided your album and came up with a rough special just for you! enjoy
I'm going to have to subscribe to the River Eagle Publication magazine. It covers a lot of topics that I like. On trees, I remember when the Belmont Shore club decided to refurbish, repair, replace the trees along one side of the layout. They estimated they needed 5000 trees to do that. I thought they were insane! But, that turned out to be about right. The whole layout has around 8000 trees and I am sure that is not as many as one of those Colorado/mountain type layouts. OTOH, a club has a lot of time and a lot of labor, so they just make them. Eventually it gets done. That was an excellent experience to see all those different types of trees and the methods used.
Gotta love it :thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up: . River you can raid my album anytime to like.
