Quick photos from my layout. Friedrich Air Conditioning building complete: - Real Friedrich Air Conditioning: - Friderich viewed across Texaco:
Here is a pic of my recently completed scratch-built grain elevator. It is made with pvc pipe and sheet styrene. The details are all scratch-built mainly using Evergreen tubing and rod. I still need to plant it on the layout. There are a few more pics in my RailImages Album. [ August 07, 2005, 01:50 PM: Message edited by: mdrzycimski ]
I've had a fine weekend at the FREMO-meeting. I made nearly 100 pics. For those who love European trains go to Heinsberg There're webvideos, too. The pushing finger in the third video is mine. Happy toooot Wolfgang
Here is an Atlas RS1 bashed into an S-???. Because I don't yet have Alco trucks the classification is a bit hard to peg.
Mike: That is an unusual loading system for a grain elevator. Is it prototypical? I would have expected to see a shed type. Also the loading outside of the silo. I need to build (create) a loading system and some variation like this would be good for me. Thanks.
Dan, impressive as always! Looks like a great project, love the results! Flash, Great looking AC company. Just checked, that's what is hanging in my livingroom window!
John W. Nice pictures. Very nice shots of the cab particularly. Sten thats a cool shot of that tunnel. The grain elevator looks wonderful.
A familiar place...busy, as always. The highway now have a grade crossing, what more, the railroad has all three lines in and running. The question is...is that wrecked car a Reminder about the grade crossing, or an reminder about paying close attention on the Mountainous trek ahead??? They're at work up there, cleaning up a little slide. Nothing permanent, it'll be cleaned up by...Tomorrow. The road now have a layer of paving on it to smooth it out. Now its not filled with 6 foot or even 3 foot ruts and such. Just nice little 1 foot ruts. Road now takes a bend here. And It keeeeeps Going Up! Onwards to Future Plateau!!!
Lighted vehicles. The moving van is signaling a left turn. The brake lights are on bright on the right side and blinking on the left side at both the rear, side of trailer, and the tractor. What will they think of next? This was at the SAMRA San Antonio train show. - [ August 08, 2005, 11:41 AM: Message edited by: sapacif ]
Bob & Geeky, Thanks for the compliments. Flash, I looked at many pictures of grain elevators and what I found was that a shed was provided to protect the cars when loading. But, I also saw just as many elevators where the loading was done out in the open. I wanted to set mine apart from the Walthers kit so I looked at some of the loading systems on the net and built them to the drawings. I don't know if they are 100% prototypical but they work for me. P.S. I really like your air conditioning plant. It looks real good and fits the area perfectly.
I finally got some photos back from my trip to Denver a while ago. Here is one I shot while pacing a train in North Texas.
