Greetings from Indianapolis! This is the nicely appointed structure at the Indiana Railroad Senate Ave. Terminal in downtown Indy.
From Saturday, 06/10/23 at Simpson, SC, an evening 12R is northbound to the big yard at Linwood, NC. I love this time of year as the summer solstice approaches and the sun moves north to bring photo opportunities not available at other times.
The RR Museum of PA has more than trains on display. Here stands an animated PRR Position Light signal mast.
Hammering on it, Huron and Eastern 3036 and a trio of unidentified HESR GP38-2's get a roll on a long string of CSX covered hoppers as they pass the Marlette depot earlier this evening.
It was a hazy, smoky morning as we blew through Forsyth Friday. This set was the east most power and positioned well so I could easily get the historic Howdy Hotel too!
Wow, that dome/obs is beautiful. Did a little research. It's a former CP Park-series obs/dome/sleeper, one of 18 built by Budd.
When we were there in 2003, there was a similar VIA consist parked. We had no luck with freight power, however.
The far engine looks OK but the nearer one is positively filthy. Rumor has it the crew went dirt track racing with it on their lunch hour.
