These images, without a doubt, have the most depth of focus of any I have taken to date. I wish I could pass on my method, but I really have no idea what I did. I have been playing with the Powershot, including trying to set manual focus (was more or less a bust...can't see the LCD image clearly enough...need a viewfinder linked to focus). Anyway, I think they turned out quite well, and am pleased to post them here at WPF.
Jeffrey- I like the setting of the rusted #150. The extra axle in front of the locomotive on the tracks, the scrub brush in the foreground and the tree make a nice picture. Are you using a flash or some indirect lighting?
I think you got my intent exactly. And I understand that the problems are not specific to Trainboard. I appreciate your comments on this. No need for an apology--it wasn't mentioned before. I think it's just best to start at a regular time, with a regular starter like Russ. Otherwise, Weekend Foto Fun might start on Tuesday, or even on Monday! That wouldn't be good, I think. So, for continuity's sake, let's let Russ or someone else on staff whom he delegates, start it. There are many members who would like to start it each week. I'm asking them not to. Frankly our members come and go; our mods and admins tend to stick around.
I've been busy on the centerpiece for the park and I must say it's a thing of beauty. The old K4 has been cleaned up and has had a cosmetic restoration. It doesn't look like the same locomotive.
Pete- thanks for setting the record straight. I agree that this should be a "show & tell" session, with the nitpicking and sniping checked at the door. If folks can't play nice, they should leave the sandbox- at least that's what my grade school teacher back in Wyoming told me. I've enjoyed all the pics, and anxiously await the next session when Russ (or his designate) kicks off another WFF session.
This weekend I did lots of pictures. Here's one special: . My friend Pete weathered this engine. More about weathering at Dec 07 blog. This engine worked as helper for the coal train. More at my sites layout, pictures along the line, the fans Wolfgang
