Rusty Roofs This is a model of the old Southern Pacific car shop in San Antonio East Yard around 1990. I used both acrylic washes and chalk. Note Pepsi machine near the building.
Flash, Excellent reproduction. At your age I would have thought that would have been a Coke machine? Jim:wideeyes:
Probably is on a hot, south Texas day. This facility has no heating or cooling, so it is probably a tough job. The covered track is the only benefit except for the machine rooms in the small shed alongside.
Let there be light... well, some more light. I added two more florescent lights to the train room recently. There were originally two shop lights hanging below the ceiling grid. Those were replaced by 4 lights recessed up in the ceiling. Here's a before shot and a shot with the new lights over the small yard and one side of the peninsula. George V.
I don't recall cars being manufactured for sale, so the first time I can think of where I have seen someone do anything Heber Valley!
Athearn did a very limited run about six years ago. I got two...and I have some that I have yet to paint. I modified the Bachmann 618, and you have seen those photos before. The CA-3 is a Trix model.
