The newest member to my locomotive fleet. It was an undecorated Athearn Genesis F45,BN version. I painted and lettered it for my fictional High Desert & Sierra Railroad. I built in a Tsunami decoder and the lights are sunny white LED`s. The logo on the side is displayed on my employer newest locomotives. Stefan http://www.hdsrr.ch
Static grass applicator....wow!!!! Why did it take me so long to play with one of these things? Here are some shots of my first test. Probably laid it on a bit heavy but I was getting a feel for the results and I must say, I like it.... We picked up a Heki grass applicator from Scenic Express this week. On sale currently for $120. It uses any power AC/DC up to 22V through a transformer so no need to worry about dead batteries like the Noch. If you have a DCC system, you can simply clip it to your rails wherever you are working to get power. The shots were taken while the glue was till wet. I need to go back and vaccum up the loose grass still. Here is a before shot taken about a year or so ago... Now I need to gather a collection of the various grasses available. The grass it came with was what was shown in the pictures above, and a spring blend that is much too bright for anything.
What an incredible array of excellent modelling and imagery you fellows are providing us this weekend....WOW!! For my own effort, I show a Pennsy Q2 getting help on the ruling grade out of Seneca Falls from a J1 2-10-4. The Q would normally have little trouble on this grade, but the boys at Seneca added another six 70 ton hoppers to the load for this occasion only.
Blast from the past (photo taken in May 2004 on the Belmont Shores N scale club in San Pedro, Calif, thanks to Flash Blackman for inviting me down): Have a Happy Easter Weekend, all.
OK.....will try posting these pics again.....Pardon me, for I am a pic posting newibe. These are from the Newport Model RaildRoad Club in Newport Minnesota. The Lionel Challenger belongs to a friend of mine at the club. Playing Chicken with a Challenger...... Never ends well.
While working on new module for the layout, I was able to shoot some angles not normally available. new module
Excellent photos Matt! I now expect to see more photos on a regular basis. Skipgear, I love that second shot of the fence. river_eagle, love the Burlington Route unit as well.:thumbs_up: to all!
The just keep getting better! RiverEagle: LOVE the double feature, two of the all time greats. OK - anyone have a scene of a handcart going into quicksand?
I would have to agree that grass is awesome!. Great improvement (not that the scene needed an improvment before)
Stefan, Incredible F-45! Absolutely love the paint scheme! I had to go back and read your description to make sure it was a model. Really great job!!!! Thanks for the photo.
I found the sun shining in on the layout one morning. Here are a few pictures of the scene. Aside for not being really nice pictures, I was surprised at how tall the track rail seems to be in this angle of the sun. It is N scale Peco code 55.
This is - but isn't - mine. This is the end result of a custom build of one of my resin 65-ton Whitcomb kits. I did the kit assembly, brass handrails, and basic painting (yellow dip) and the customer - Chad Zentz, did final details, painting, custom decals, and the photography. He isn't a member over here at Trainboard but he said I could post this photo here when I asked permission. Usually I do final details and weathering, but he showed me some previous work he'd done and I decided (wisely!) to just step aside and let the man finish the job. I'm tellin' ya, it blew me away:
