X4080 East, the Hotshot freight from Tadanac, stopping for orders at South Slocan Junction. (still a work in progress) Have a great weekend everyone. md
I managed some scenery work last weekend and broke out some vehicles I've had in boxes for years. Ford pickup in the woods ready to haul some firewood back to the homeplace.
Nice pictures. Russell, that is a nice dark-time photo. I haven't done any of those yet. The UP 844 had troubles and did not get to San Antonio, so Union Pacific sent the E9s instead. Good for me because I saw the 844 last time. Here are photos at Sunset Station. This is all a part of Fiesta San Antonio.
Built a 16"x10' staging yard module in 6 days for the Silicon Valley Free-moN setup at the Hiller Aviation Museum show last week. Got 4 of the 7 future tracks in (LHS had only a few #7 turnouts) and wired so the group could run multiple long trains through the layout. Fun stuff! Behind the staging yard is (left to right): Steve Williams' Lockhart, TX module, my Sonoma Shoofly module, and Dave Falkenburg's Alviso module. 16-year-old Alvin (operating the staging yard) is currently building a cool runaround & industry module himself (when he's not distracted by running trains ) And the video: Thanks for looking & have a groovy weekend!
We had our open house at the pikemasters this weekend One of our members bought in an ON30 2-8-0 to run on the DCC side of the layout as a gag. We were trying to decide if the engine was too big, or the layout too small. One thing is for sure, it ran all the way around so that must mean our right of way SHOULD clear most stuff! A B&O EM-1 leading a train out of the DCC yard. UP U-50 #53 is cruising into Tyler yard. meanwhile, on the narrow gauge section of the layout, the sawmill is cranking out more lumber.
main street and then again, nearly 100 years later (not really, just transitioning from narrow gauge to standard gauge sections of the layout) One of Mike's metal loads. April and the RGS is STILL running snow plows!
