Some shots of my N scale T&NO Doodlebug train. Two trains like this ran on the old San Antonio & Aransas Pass line between Houston and Kenedy, Texas. One would leave from each end in the morning, pass each other mid day and end up at the other end in the evening.
That's a great set up and photo, Crandell. An upstream shot of Roaring Creek, with an SD45 in the back ground. DJ.
Must be spring.....farmers preping their fields and the bears are coming out of hybernation. Very nice.
I've been working on beating up and weathering a Bachmann GP30. I'm not finished with it yet but this is what I have so far.
Nice start on the GP30 Running Bear, If you are not already planning it, I would recommend trying "Bragdon's Weathering Powders". You use a stiff paintbrush, and dust dark colors near the bottom, the ends, and fan grills, then lighter dust colors over everything else. It's so easy and works great!
Nice work everyone! Well, I'm finishing up my first week of unemployment. A very strange feeling not having to be anywhere or get something done before a deadline. Is this what retirement will feel like (assuming I'll be able to someday)? While I didn't get a chance to spend much time with my layout, I managed to run a train or two.
Looking better Running Bear. If you want, I can send you some of my Bragdon's Powders? I bought mine at the train show, and each container is a lifetime supply, cause a little goes a long way. Just send me a private message with your address and I'll send you an assortment to play with.
My Nine car Great Northern ABBA powered Empire Builder train on the Newport Railroad Club's Layout in Newport MN. This is my Proto2K powered Walthers Empire Builder train. For the home layout, this will be my primary BNSF heritage train.
