Tight squeeze! Looks like it needs some "no clearance" signs for the brakies riding cars.

There have been a few times at various shows where I set up with a large NTRAK group where someone tries to run a wide load on the Yellow line shown here. The clearance really exceeds the NMRA guide lines but folks always seem to want to fudge a little and invariably get into trouble on bridges and tunnels etc. Someone once tried to run a military tank train with some huge 1-144 scale armor on the flat cars. They fit fine until the turrets on some of the tanks vibrated enough to rotate, sticking the barrel out in one direction and the back of the turret in the other. Needless to day there was a major derailment and the buildings all moved around blocking the Blue line also. What a mess.

Russell, if it makes you feel better, an anecdote from years ago:

a Bradley had just finished being worked on in a maintenance bay. The crew was pulling it out of the building and returning it to its parking spot. One man driving, one ground guiding. Very slow and careful to avoid striking the building with the hull of the vehicle. Did not, however, notice that the turret had been rotated slightly to allow for the work being done. As the vehicle exited the bay, the gun tube struck the door frame area of the building, resulting in a large chunk of concrete and a snapped gun tube...

I know it is OT, but you have me curious as to the aftermath of this incident. What happened to those involved?

I added a real wood load and weathering to my Heisler. An application of Dulcoat should tone down the rust a bit. I also tweaked the CV settings to my taste.&nbsp;<br>[IMG]

Lower ranking guys and a genuine accident, so as best I recall they ended up with a lot of talking at/to and some extra training. Although a little voice is telling me someone's wallet took a hit for the cost of the barrel.

JimJ, that fuel load is great (nothing like modelling with the real thing?)
