Some shots I took at the Oklahoma City Train Show last weekend. One of the guys from the club in OKC has a module with an airport. This F6F is on the runway ready to take off. The flash stopped the prop in the first photo but I took a time exposure on the second. There is a tiny hole in the runway under the prop with air from a fish aquarium pump blowing.
Even the skidmarks from aircraft landings! Cool! Some of my favorites from 2008! The BNSF special train was in Great Falls the last couple days, to do fan trips for military folks and thair families. Since I couldn't ride, I managed a few night shots after they tied down for the night. Here's one from last night. BNSF Christmas train crosses the Missouri, as the GN and MILW depot steeples look on, on 10 Dec 08 at 8:45 PM. 60-sec time exposure--the windows on all the stainless steel passenger cars were decked out with lights, making a spectacular smear job for the camera: A coal empty charges out of Tunnel 18 on the Moffat after a snowstorm: Last light across the Missouri River, and the ornate Great Falls Milwaukee Road depot: Night at Tunnel 27, as a coal load descends into South Boulder Canyon:
Cool pictures guys! Here is a funny picture of me, taken at the train show 2 weeks ago. I did not realize how much of a train geek I was until I seen this picture:
Cool layout. The great thing about opti-visors is that they make almost anyone look like an interstellar bounty hunter.
I have enjoyed the images posted already. Thanks, everyone. I like the drive-in scene! On the long exposure, is that an EOTD making the pinkish trail? Great shot! Here is my contribution. I return to the venerable 2-10-4 J1 as it prepares to rejoin the main after holding back a coal drag against gravity on its descent from Sentinel Mines.
I got a couple of items in the mail today in a 'surprise' package. Got no idea who sent it as there was no return address. If anybody is interested, the license plate on the Mini Cooper is '2WQ1332', California plate.
A lot of good pictures! I like those prototypes. Crandell, a great shot and a suitable background. Here's my contribution, "two brothers". What else??? Wolfgang
Say, that's nice looking tracks and ballast you have there, Flash! :tb-biggrin: Wolfgang, thank-you. I must say, I admire your ability to fashion an engine that is a perfect match for your them at the terminal. You do good modelling, and should be proud of your accomplishments if I am to judge them. -Crandell
One year ago, I posted this image.... since I've no time for anything new this week, I'll share it again. Just so all of you don't think that I am only a Santa Fe bigot.... (which I am, btw)..... here is a shot of one of my other favorite locos, the Southern Pacific SD7/SD9 "Cadillac": I purchased this stock Atlas SD7 N scale model off that auction site, repaired broken Sunrise details (the 'barrel can' SP lights), then lightly weathered with Bragdon powders and Grimy Black dry-brushed on the trucks. Happy Holidays, all!
NICE!!!! I especially love the detailing. I gotta find some of those detail parts. I remember lamenting the demise of Sunrise once before and someone on this very board gave me a link to an outfit that makes the same sorts of detail parts, and I can't remember what thread it was in. :tb-wacky::tb-wacky:
L&N Geep coasts up to the fuel rack at Myersville John, nice Cadillac. If I were running 6 axle power, it would include plenty of SD7/SD9s. Thanks for sharing.
