Weekend Photo Fun December 18, 2009

Great Photos everyone....

Here is a NP W-1 I had been working on over the weekend, following Andrew Hegstadt's description. Starting point was a MP Mikado.

Here my efforts so far:


The steam- and sand dome still need to be casted, so I stopped detailing the top of the boiler. I added a Bachmann tender with a modified GHQ shell to get a good all-wheel pickup.

I've got a video of a new eBay bought steamer. I picked this MDC/Roundhouse 2-8-0 Consolidation, advertised as "does not run". If this is the seller's definition of "does not run" then I can't even imagine how a running loco performes. I have not worked on the mechanism at all yet.

Maybe he didn't understand that it runs on electricity and not steam.
