Here are a few more shots from the Oklahoma City Train Show a few weeks ago. NTRAK bridge module T-Track module with UFO and crop circles. The space aliens appear to be trying to communicate with the cows.
Hi and Merry Christmas to all. I just joined this forum and this is my first post. An upstream shot with SD-45 following the creek.
Grampy try something like my infamous "Trains Through the Trees and Other Solid Objects" GP40X - Roslindale, MA on the Needham Line.
A rerun from Jan 2006: ---------------------- It's a hot summer day on Raton Pass, New Mexico. A train can be heard in the distance:
Since it's below zero again here in NW Montana, I thought I'd post some of my favorite 2008 snow shots. Tunnel 17 is just out of view behind this westbound manifest in a blizzard on the Moffat Route: A UP manifest with plenty of head-end power peeks thru the fog in South Draw, east of Tunnel 17: An EB coal load at East Portal, CO has just exited Moffat Tunnel, and descends into a snowy landscape. Note the D&SL-era signals, still in place in 2008 (the real reason for this shot!): BNSF's Stockton-Denver manifest tiptoes east of Crescent, after a heavy snowstorm: (anyone know if that house in the upper left is for sale???)
I absolutely love shots in the snow when all there are 2 rails showing and no ties. Living in Florida that's something I can never even imagine...
Wow, Grampy!! The water in that stream looks like it could quench a hiking railfan's thirst...it certainly has contributed to some lush undergrowth! Well done! More shots of the layout?
Hemi: Earlier today, I was carping and moaning to my wife about how long it takes me to warm up my achy hips, knees, and hands after I've been out in cold weather. Just looking at your pic of Tunnel 17 in a blizzard makes my body ache again. A photographer would have to be tough, crazy, or both to capture such a great shot.
Yes, and YES! Actually, it wasn't all that cold, Dave. It was just below freezing, and the snow was heavy and very wet. All those shots were from the same day, too!
A good-sized N scale ship almost dwarfs the wharf. This is a detail of the Beavercove, 497-feet long. It's hard to even get a train in the picture!
