Here's morten1996 RailImages gallery. That doesn't tell you what scale, but you can tell the tracks are dual gauge. Perhaps 1/12 scale?
Did a little more work on this, 12'7" Woodchip car. Still not happy with the paper ribs so I'm waiting on some .005" styrene to see if I can improve the look. Started assembling one of Joe Gartman's C40-3 Caboose kits, which is very well detailled and nicely cast. Started work on the extension to the garden layout. A new loop will head off along the red line and will go around the entire garden connection with the top end of the line in the picture. I have to build a curved 3 part bridge to carry the line over the grass. Hopefully I can make a start on that when I'm off work in in a week.
Hi, In contrast to my Amtrak passenger & UP freight train (both 5" gauge - scale about 1/11.3), the Aerotrain is 7 1/4" (scale 1/8 or 1.5" to the foot - this is the usual scale/guage used in Europe & Eastern US). So the unit is about 6'6", weighing about 220 lbs with 3 batteries. Advantage of the bigger scale is better tracking due to weight and gauge, more room for motors & batteries, well, and of course much more impressive. The bigger the better... Disadvantage is, obviously, transporting it. My spine & arms are really hurting after a running day; my car has to be cleared of most of it's seats and even the driver space has to reduced. By the way, I'm not a regular member of that live steam club - I'm visit them about three times a year. Due to lack of space for such clubs here in Germany it has about 1/4 mile of mainline. No chances to get more space even in a rural area. One can really get envious concerning the situation in the US - however, there not much problems over here with liability on public running days. As far as I know, many of the US-clubs (have to) avoid public running days due to incredible high insurances for liablity. Best regards Norman
The a/c is missing. But why would you remove the giant cooling tower, that happens to blow across the ball field and cool everyone off?
So many people were yelling about it being there, now I'll see how many yell about it not being there.
My first complete diesel paint job. It is for N-trak so I left off grabs front and rear, just put on the roof details that you can easily see from the top or in profile for durability. The white stripe is paint, logo and number decals are custom from an Alps and Microscale reflector stripes And finally the real thing. I left off the graphiti, I'm not a big fan of it.

Tony, that's one of the cleanest, straightest paint stripes I have ever seen! And for a first try? Hot diggity dog, you're good! If you didn't tell us you painted that stripe, I'd have guessed it was decal! Very nicely done.:thumbs_up:
Well......it's not the first thing I have painted, just the first N scale diesel. I have been painting RC car bodies for close to 10 years and paint bodies for the manufactures for their kit box artwork. Some examples of my RC work can be seen here: Losi: XXX-T CR Racing Truck Kit: Losi (LOSK0077) Losi: XXX-CR Competition 2WD Buggy Kit: Losi (LOSA0032) The white line came out better than I would have ever expected. The loco was first painted white, then I used my vinyl cutter to cut the stripe the correct width from vinyl paint mask. From there, apply the stripe mask, mask off for the gray, shoot gray, remove mask, mask off for the red, shoot red, done. I was really surprised how well the paint mask conformed to the detail around the doors and especially the blower duct. I did have to strip it and repaint it once because the first red I chose was very wrong. This ended up being Polly Scale Soo Line red.
I was browsing the old WNFF posts and thought I would bump up the WNFF from one year ago. Very nice models and it is almost like new.
Jeffrery, Did you physically remove the A/C, or Photoshop it out? I would hate to see you roast in your train room. I actually thought your idea of making it into an A/C factory was inspired!
