In 1937, three P6 Pacific locomotives were transferred from S P Pacific lines to the Texas & New Orleans. They were rebuilt in Houston to increase boiler pressure. New disk drivers were installed as well as streamlining. They were painted in Daylight colors to pull the the new lightweight replacement for the heavyweight Sunbeam that ran between Houston and Dallas. They were reclassified as P14s. This is an N scale kitbash that I built from a Con Cor Hudson.
I managed to continue work on some projects, start up a new one and finish a couple. Still working on that Canadian Grain Covered Hopper, attaching the roof walk the walk on the left side of the picture is attached and I am working to the right, and I am using liquid plastic cement on this per Plano's instructions, hard to believe it works as well as it does. Starting on an Intermountain PS1 50' Combo Door Boxcar kit, have attached extended coupler pockets to represent end of the car cushioning. Kadee PS 2003CF Covered Hopper painted with Scalecoat II UP Hopper Gray paint and lettered with Herald King Decals. Car was built in 1956 and this is a mid 60's repaint with added COTS and ACI Plates. Car was used in Cement, Sand, Potash or Talc Service where needed. Branchline 50' AAR Boxcar Kit, used the Despatch Roof and Ends to more represent the NYC Despatch Shops built car. Painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Greg Komar's Decals. Car was built in 1956 and the Early Bird Service logo designated the car for 29 hour service between New York and Chicago in full car loads, the Pacemaker Service was for lcl loads. This service went away when the Flexivans came on the scene. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
Following Montanan's chain gang photo from last week. Here is mine (I need to update the photo- HWY 101 is now painted and detailed) Thanks, Wolf
Good morning everyone. Here is a recent photo taken on the layout of a pair of WP U23B's taking their west bound train from the SP line on the paired track back over to the WP line at Wesso, Nevada.
Here is a snapshot taken from the video I posted under "N Scale". I made this scene several years ago and it was on my NTrak module. I put on club layout when I had heart attack and stopped travelling with modules. Hope you enjoy, Carl
Chicago & Illinois Midland Extra finishes up some late afternoon switching in Pekin prior to returning to Havana. I've spent the past 2 months working on the houses in this part of the layout...a combination of plastic kits, cardstock mock-ups, and Libertyville ceramics that I got at a garage sale.
Sometimes I forget you are a Model Railroader, besides a fantastic model maker and artist! Thanks for the reminder!! Well done Jim
Sorry for the late arrival; been busy making a video of my layout, which stretched to 24 minutes long. Anyways here's this week's photo: John
Some more progress (ballasting and scenery) for my layout in the specific thread http://www.trainboard.com/highball/...scale-modular-layout-wip.115210/#post-1063987
Took me a while to get around to it this week, but this is another great scene. While Al Armitage made numerous contributions to the hobby, the old Revell wall sections he designed in the late 1950's are still my favorite. Along with the wonderfully grubby ALCO, this gritty scene makes excellent use of their aged and weather beaten character. Very Nice.
