We had to move some display shelves off the back wall at the club. So we moved everything out of the yard. The first thing I moved back in was the Cabeese from the caboose track. I figured I'd get a shot of them all together with the rest of the yard barren. I also figured I would post some shots taken about a year ago at the Pikemasters. Brings back some memory's for me. A UP GE crossing under the overpass at Hruban Jct. The overpass and all the trackage in the background of this shot is now gone, replaced by an anhydrous ammonia dealer. This shot is an oldie for me, I used it as the background on the computer I used as an Office aide during my Senior Year of High School. and from a few months later.
Scenery Progress! Reminded of Alan Jackson's song "Drive" "...It was just an old hand-me-down Ford, With 3 speed on the column, And a dent in the door..." I put a few cars down on the tie strips to get some perspective on my scenic work. I obviously need to touch up spots where the base paint soaked the ground foam in and add some weeds and blooming forsythias along the tree line. It is March 1968 in WV, after all.
Mike(lh), I am always impressed with your artistic ability, but today's offering of your lighted Depot, at night, with reflections in the pond, is OUTSTANDING!!!!
Some old photos from my layout: The barber shop interior is simply a scene printed on card stock and illuminated from behind.
Thanks Hank and Flash. Much appreciated. Jeffrey that interior works very well, especially when it's lit. Mike
Hi Geep_fan, I was impressed with your use of the Atlas girders as supports for your trestle. Very creative!! I've never seen these parts used for what they are intended for(?). There must be a prototype that they've modeled them from but I've never seen an example. Personally, I've used them as horizontal rails for my container crane. Good lookin' rocks too! Brian
Brian, I didn't even notice that all these years! these photos are from my local club layout, not my own personal one. I'll have to ask some of the older hands who were around when it was built what the inspiration was.
