Its common practice to run cabcars in a consist. Most of time its because its 92 day inspection has expired. You see, cabcars are considered engines in the eyes of the FRA. They must go through the same 92 day insp. as a locomotive. If it run out, they can use them as reg. passenger cars. This will continue until the car passes the insp.
