It doesn't get much closer than that, Wolfgang!!! :tb-wacky:

Notice that the lead loco didn't forget about the gravity. :tb-biggrin:

Wolfgang have you thought about placing an electrical feed on the bridge that feeds the approach to the bridge?

    Jim,

Your thru-truss bridges are beautiful. Are they brass?

    TFM in NOLA

I was in New Orleans this week volunteering for Habitat for Humanity (if you have never gone to NOLA to help, please consider it - they need lots of it) and saw this mixed TFM freight coming down the tracks between the French Quarter and the canal (Mississippi River).

    Just havin' fun

Started building a Christmas layout on some inherited 4 x 8 styrofoam sheets...and well...decided to have some fun by placing buildings and trains on it that have nothing what-so-ever to do with Christmas...

The new gondola has been repainted. The UP job paint job it sported is now toast. I started with this :

    And now have this:

I also changed out the couplers while I was at it. Where there were EZ-Mate Mark II's there are now Kadee #5's. One of the Mark II's came in handy as I needed a coupler for the tender of my Spectrum K4. Being it's going to be a park display I didn't want to sacrifice a Kadee to it.

Wolfgang, I had a similar incident!

This is what happens when you run trains without watching. Fortunately the crew survived.

A Swoosh 'Deuce herald is framed between the turntable arms, as a menacing Jordan Sreader stands guard, awaiting its next call to duty:

Yes, I've thought about this. But I thought I can omit it.

That was the first time in years! Perhaps I will have to learn a harder way, 50'' deeper.

I've been somewhat busy today, as you can see. I wanted to use India ink and alcohol as the weathering agent but couldn't find any India ink. I did however find a pure black acrylic gel from Folk Art (plaid) that seems to be a good substitute.

All that remains is to add some rust here and there.

Greg, you were very fortunate to catch KCS (TFM) on the NO Public Belt riverside next to the French Market, with the Jax Brewery in the background. Usually, if KCS comes down NS from Meridian, they leave NS way uptown and head west along side of I-610 to Kenner where they rejoin their home rails up to Baton Rouge.

BTW, next time you come down with Habitat, come on over to the MS Gulf Coast where you'll be welcomed with open arms. We still have a bunch of Habitat Homes under construction also!!!!
