Back when Kato first released their original CB&Q Budd cars, I noticed that the observation car was the same plan as used on the Sam Houston Zephyr. I re-lettered the names on a few of the coaches, a baggage car and an observation car to reflect the prototype consist used on the Sam. That was the easy part. I then had to kit bash a Life Like E-6 to look like the "Silver Bullet" E-5. Fast forward to a year or so ago when Kato released their Silver Streak Zephyr. Almost the same train. Well anyway, I had to buy the new one and will re-letter a new E-5 for the Sam if Micoscale will ever release the out of stock decals.
Great stuff so far - I can almost feel the cold in Mark's photo. Or maybe it's the 35 degree outside temp...
I agree , the shot is pretty good and with the outside temp being 32*, helps as well as being over 60 ....
Finally working on Saucier Central's Lyman Jct. Yard & Engine Terminal. Thanks to my son who said "Why don't you orient it this way", and I suddenly had a "Well, DUH!" moment. I could say something like "out of the mouths of babes", but he's 54...LOL
