Starting things off for the first weekend in October is an SP Atlantic Lines (T&NO) GS-1. I kit bashed this locomotive out of a Great Northern S-2.

I kept myself occupied part of last weekend and this week making a custom built drive to fit a Walthers GP9m shell.

    Front Range frame
    Mashima motor
    Proto 2000 flywheels
Proto 2000 AAR trucks (Alco FA)
    Athearn worms and clips
Athearn shafts made from pieces for an SD9 and a PA2
    Digitrax DZ143 decoder
I have a brand new Alaska shell coming for it

Soon I'll be working on another one but it'll have a different frame so that will throw in a different set of variables.

That's OK, your weathering covered up the scratch. (insert rimshot here)

    p.s.- That's foxy!

I did this over the summer. CN never had an SD45 in green and yellow, but it's my railroad and these are my favorite colours.
I rebuild this Athearn Blue Box SD45 and added a QSI Quantum Revolution with stereo speakers.
I added Cannon Radiator Fans to let the sound out.
    Then it got dirty.

WOW, 757 is a fantastic model, especially the cab and backhead. All the fine detail makes it look like a G-Scale model.

The Saucier Central now has a fully operational electric power grid.

First – Plant Saucier is huffing and chuffing reliably at Lorraine. An SCRR switcher is shunting cars in the coal yard, after delivering a replacement transformer in support of a maintenance overhaul.

Second – the sub-station supplying the Saucier Municipal Electric Co., Inc. is now in full operation.

Third – The Saucier electric power grid crosses Wortham Woods and Wortham Dairy Farm. The grid presents no problem for the distribution panel door because the “wires” stretch ~750%, and recover immediately when the door is shut.

The lights now are on in Saucier, the Tavern has cold beer, and the Mayor is happy...so is her husband, the Tavern owner.

    Nice power system, there, Hytek.

Speaking of power, here's my achievement so far today... lighting my "under construction" yard tower:

(No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. It's an N scale tower, and I'm using my daughter's HO scale (DC) track to test-power the light.)

    Very cool!
Though the intensity of the light pouring through the cracks reminds me of the fridge in Ghostbusters.

Well, I'll have the light dialed WAY down when I install it, and come to think of it, turning on the light is the best way to find the cracks so I can seal them... :D
