Ah, I believe that is a 4-8-0? Very nice, Russell, and the hoppers fit very nicely. Similarly, I depict this mighty J1 from the PRR shaking the Seneca River trestle to its foundation mud sills.

I've been working on an Athearn BB 50' boxcar this week and have it looking fairly presentable. First one side: Then the other: The wheels were painted with Floquil rust and the trucks were painted with Floquil rail tie brown and rust. The doors were done with Floquil weathered black, rust, rail brown and a little dirt and grime for good measure.
The sides of the car were treated to a spray wash of alcohol and black acrylic paint. They were then colored with rust, weathered black, grime, mud, dirt, roof brown and rail brown. The ends got pretty much the same treatment as the sides and show a little hint of grime thrown up by the car ahead. As the final touch the entire model was sprayed with Valspar Clear Flat.

My contribution for this week is three photos taken back in March 2009 on Jim Berling's beautifully scenicked N scale layout, up in the Seattle area. The shots were taken on the portion of Jim's layout that was just featured on pages 32 and 33 in the July/August 2009 issue of N Scale Railroading magazine (the Kirk Reddie publication). The GP7B is a Des Plaines kit: Atlas Model Railroad Co. - Des Plaines GP7B kit - any experiences to share? The FM H12-44 #565 is the same engine that is featured at the following URLs: http://home.comcast.net/~j.sing/Santa_Fe_FM_H12-44_Zebra_Stripe.htm Installation of Richmond Controls EZ26 Constant Intensity LED in a Minitrix H12-44 in N Scale Special thanks to Jim for hosting me, and special thanks to Walt Huston for arranging to have me come over while I was on a business trip up there.
I'm glad to be back here! I was here when guys like watash and Johnny Trains (R.I.P.) were members. But for the coalhopper guys, here's my WM Gray Train with a C&O T-1 from a very B&O, Sand Patch'ish tunnel! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnMKaEeOznM"]YouTube - C&O on B&O & WM rails[/ame]
