NICE tunnel shot there COverton!! Here’s my first contribution in a few years. This past week I dusted off my camera, tidied up the layout, downloaded a trial of Helicon Focus, and took some new pictures. My layout is in N-scale. The backdrops are digitally added. Several pictures were taken at various manual focal points and run through the Helicon Focus software. I think it worked very nicely, although on the down side it details every shortcoming of my modeling. Oh well, lessons learned for the next layout.
Okaaaaaayyy............................those shortcomings would be..........where...........exactly?:shade:
Foto Fun 2007 09 07 Great shots so far! Blast from the past this week for me ... (i.e. how time flies). Just two years ago this month, I was in the middle of ballasting my Kato Unitrack layout : Closeup of turnout ballasting in progress, two years ago tomorrow: Here is similar angle after finished: Somehow I don't know where the time has gone. Have good weekend, all.
Well, I for one would be mightily pleased if I could model like that ! Really nice layout, John. -Crandell
Great models and fantastic photos as always. Here is the latest addition to my DRGW varnish. Ex UP diner DRGW1116 brought in as cover for Silver Banquet on the Rio Grande Zephyr. It is a stock undecorated Kato smoothsided diner as this is 90 percent correct to start with BLMA grab irons added to the roof, roof vents and stacks altered. Underframe modified with corrected equipment boxes etc. Sprayed and lined just awaiting numbering and weathering.
Nice work on silver paint. I think it is the hardest color to work with. Well, maybe yellow colors, too. I made these "Sand Load Only" ink jet decals for some two bay hoppers in my fleet. Here is a stock Kato SSW covered hopper ready to unload at the San Antonio engine terminal. Light weathering on the hopper.
COverton Excellent way to start off! Bruce-in-MA WOW! Flash Cool looking geep! Russell Awesome house! John Sing Great progress! Andy Nice job on the cars! Flash Great looking hopper! Mike Great layout shots! Nice meet at the bridge!
All I have so far this weekend are a couple of progress shots of the foliage along the ridge behind the Farm House area.
Crandell, thank you. You are too kind. Your opening photo for this weekend's thread, I'd say I hope I can model as well as you can!
I'm no longer ever sure of just what I've posted where in the way of images, so forgive me if you folks have seen this one here before. "Switchin' American Tool & Die in Putney, NY, circa 1941." NYW&B
NYW&B, I have seen your work, including this fine (sorry, phine) photo, and I never tire of it. It is good to see it here today. I still aspire to being as adept with the fall presentation as you. -Crandell
Excellent modeling and photos as usual guys. I haven't done much in the last several weeks, so I have nothing new to show. This oldie has special meaning for me, and so it is one of my favorite pics of my modules.
