Flash, are friction-bearings still legal on your road? ;)
Nice subtle weather on on that car!

Here's something you don't see everyday; twin mainlines paralleling each other, twin tunnels bored within yards of each other:
The Milwaukee Road tunnel is Beavertail Tunnel 16, the Northern Pacific tunnel is double-track, and is currently being used by MRL!

Here's another example: Nimrod Tunnel 15 ont he Milwaukee alignment is just out of sight to the right, this is the NP tunnel, also double track:

If you follow I-90 thru Montana, from Deer Lodge to west of Missoula, you'll see twin tunnels and twin ROWs in the canyon together. It's quite neat!

Nice everything effect. This is another of those uncommon shots where nothing proves it's a model. What scale is it?

EDIT: I was just wondering if it was in fact the real thing, when I found the one thing wrong. No telephone lines.

Yes, I know the Fire Boat
is not a train, but I am sure most folks would want to see it.

    Foto Fun 2007 09 01

Here's some quick grab shots during a busy Labor Day Weekend,
of a Kato Santa Fe E8, lightly weathered:

If there is anything noteworthy at all about this standard light weathering
job, it's that the A-1-A truck sideframes have been painted and weathered
to give them a little depth:

I just noticed from the photos, that I need to blacken the frame behind the portholes
with a black magic marker. :)

Have a great Labor Day Weekend, all!

A recently completed scratchbuilding project, intended for entry in this fall's NMRA NER regional convention. The structure is based loosely on FSM's Seafood Emporium.

    Unseen Details

My friend Doyle Bond makes a lot of buildings for the SAMRA layout. Today, there was some repair work being done and this section of the layout was removed. I was surprised to see these scratch built stairs on the rear side of this section. The stair is barely visible from the aisle side of the layout. Not bad for unseen details. Doyle made all of the buildings here; they do have detailed interiors.

With command station to repair - no train running. Only a static picture.
I've finished the scenery at the Harbor segment and placed an RDC to take pictures.

Nice photos as usual guys. I gave my Life Like RDG FAs a much needed overhaul prior to the N Scale weekend at Bedford, PA last weekend. While I had the locos apart, I figured I'd take the opportunity to do a little weathering with chalks. They look better in person due to the fact that I'm better with an SLR than with this new fangled digital camera. I don't know how to adjust the f stop for depth of field.
