Wow Russell - now that's a bridge! Here's a somewhat smaller one :tb-wink: on my layout (backdrop digitally added):
Some folks really liked that N scale "Somewhere West" layout last week from the US-themed Model RR Convention in Germany, so here's a couple more shots of it, you can click on the thumbnails below and it'll blow up to a bigger picture: Have a good weekend!
Russell Great looking trestle! Mike Neat layout pictures! River_eagle Neat train! Bruce-in-MA Cool bridge! John Sing What a great layout!
Well, one thing is true...you guys can do bridges...big time!! Very credible work, gentlemen. Jon, your images and modelling are truly excellent. Wonderful breadth, depth, and nice tones in the models. Well, here is a recent photo. I think I will post a second in time, one that shows a bridge. It's just that the background is contrived because the bridge spans my layout's operating pit, so without a positioned painted cardboard behind it, it would lose a lot of appeal by showing a lot of wood and open space. Anyway, here is the first image. Here is the second image.
Caboose Swap for Suppertime Departure Back in the old days of cabooses, each conductor had a caboose assigned for his use. When that conductor was assigned a trip, his caboose had to be added to the train. That is what is happening here on my layout for the San Antonio to El Paso evening run. As you can see, it is the last caboose in the furtherest caboose track...every time, you know? No wonder the railroads quit using these things. Here is a link to my RailImages album of my cabooses.
Here's some weekend fun. Some shots I took today in Timonium, Maryland @ the "Great Scale Model Train Show" SHOT ONE: A huge furnace/ steel industry that was on display adjacent to the PeachCreek Shops tables: The Four County Society Model Engineers' "Modular Layout". This is a very nice modular club. They do impressive work. I took several "overall shots", but they didn't turn out well. Here's where a few of my "buckies" went today. I got some good stuff today walking the tables. One of which is this Atlas Gold Series, VIRGINIAN Trainmaster:
No new pics but I did make an attempt at a video. This shows where a proposed steel trestle will be built. I realy like the looks of the 2 SD35's crossing over the F3 AB below.
My new triple unit, it's fun. And I've made a [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXx3c5OOl0s]video[/ame] too. Wolfgang
This is another quick pic I took last week while running some trains. The St. Anne's local pulling an empty boxcar from the National Confection Co siding.
Scenery started on the Secret Places Sub, as of this weekend! Tunnels 10 and 17 are the hidden flyover:
Here's a shot of the Walker Coal Co. in Putney, NY, being switched on a mild Indian Summer's day in 1941. NYW&B
Thats it! Wolfgang you just fire me up. I post an unsceniced(basicaly) video and you couldn't wait just a few more posts to show me up. I will just have to build that bridge and settle on some scenery details and get to it. NYW&B, If the rest of the layout looks that interesting and busy I am sure you had many smiles leaving after the operating session.
