Something from the Archives. Tigard Or is where the mess of SP/BN tracks gets reordered into a yard for PNWR. THe harbor turn power for this cold October in 2011 is an ex-SP SD45 and a ubiquitous ex ATSF GP39-2.
NS 380 on the West Virginia Sec. crossing the Ohio River into Point Pleasant,WV. The lower track is CSX Ohio River Sub. First real snow. Curtis
Great photos, everyone. I especially like the snow scene from Curtis. Yoho's photo has motive power that looks quite familiar to me, the local Quebec-Gatineau railroad, same paint scheme, just Q-G instead of P-W. I've seen some rebuilt GP35s, SD40s, and even a GP38 that was turned into a road slug.
I took this back in November. Not too many standard cabs run here so a standard cab SD70 and a clean SD60I on the other end so this was a treat!
@Virginian Railway: your photo has some interesting items in the scene. There's that trackside installation in the background, for one, and the bridge on the right, which looks like it's not built for heavy axle loads! And that photo has a great atmosphere to it.
This picture was taken at the N 5th street crossing in Livingston, MT. I am wondering if the '59 Chevy Impala on the left side of the picture could be the one I restored a few years ago ????
