Did you see the former Milwaukee Road depot in downtown?
there were only 33 Willamettes built, 6 are left....and they were still superior to the West Coast Shay...
if I did, I missed it...
Yes. I noted that in my post.
Did you spend any time down on the waterfront? If so, there is a block signal in front of it. (Ex-SP I believe.) It it the the hobby shop now. It was the replacement for the original depot. The tracks were right in the street and there might still be a sign of them showing in the pavement. Across the street there are some benches, where you can sit and watch the Victoria ferry come in. Usually quiet. Nice just to sit there and relax.
There's a really nice one on display in Shelton as well.
Ex-Milwaukee Road until 1980, then Seattle & North Coast RR till 1985. now it's a nice hobby shop! (Pacific Rim Hobbies), i think? Been there a couple times.
I stop there every time I am in the area. If the weather is decent, sitting on a bench across the street and taking in the view of the harbor is very pleasant. This was the replacement depot for the original SPA&W depot.
Yes! Try to get up there once/twice a year.
