UP tends to like to keep their Heritage units in the general areas served by those heritage railroads, so it was a bit surprising to see UP 1988 making it's way through Roseville after coming down through the Sierras.
I wonder how much debate they had about which base color to use? As attractive as the unit is, I think to a lot of us with a sense of the history Pennsy just says Brunswick Green.
What are the reporting marks? I can tell it ends with an "X". But not able to read the other letters.
But if you are doing the 5 stripe scheme, then the operative color is FC Red, except for the as delivered units, the Baldwin Sharks and most of the GG-1's which were the only DGLE with the 5 stripe scheme. So it would be appropriate for the FC Red and the 5 Stripe to go together. Rick J
