This is the first paint scheme of the Elk River Rail Road, at Gassaway,WV. I think they had 6 of these engines. Here is the new paint job, they only did two. Curtis
I suppose they'll be hard hit by the coal downturn. So survival will require future painting of any more units to stop.

Here's a oldie from the Oregon Pacific & Eastern. The OP&E is now gone and I don't know what happened to the locomotive
That's one of two GE 100 ton, 680 hp twin-engine switchers originally built in 1941 for the Monongahela Connecting as #111. MonConn repowered them with more powerful Cummins engines, and later sold 111 to OP&E as their #11. By the cars in the background, I figure this is an early to mid 1970s photo. It still looks good after 30+ years!
