A north bound Santa Fe manifest meets a UFIX Coal train with Burlington Northern run through power at Wallis, Texas in August of 1992. The coal came down the Joint line in Colorado and over to Fort Worth on the BN before making its final journey across ATSF rails on it way to Thompsons, Texas to the HL&P power plant at Smithers Lake. Looks chilly. Recent slowdowns in coal have me wondering is this facility will soon be a former yard, like so many others.
