One of Disney World's monorail soars overhead. I took several monorail pics on my trip to WDW on my school trip this fall. My friends could tell I was pumped to railfan these!
This engine showed up on the West Virginia Sec. and I think he brought the snowy weather with him. It's on the NS, crossing the Ohio River. Curtis
Old Santa Fe caboose bringing up the end of an Austin Steam Train excursion out of Bertram, Texas last spring.
This may be a little unconventional for this thread, but I thought it might interest some. I rediscovered this as I was going through my pictures file. All were taken at the Copper Queen mine in Bisbee, Az of their "railroad" and some ore carts/chutes. -HL
Not at all unconventional, they are rail equipment and perhaps often overlooked these days. And if my history isn't far off the mark, a great deal of what we see today traces back to equipment similar to that in mining operations in England.
I am back in Colorado for my annual winter inspection of the abandoned Rio Grande Tennessee Pass line. Today we started off in Minturn and headed up toward Redcliff. Did not even make it as far as the bridge over the Eagle River just south of town. No one had preceded us this year on the upper reaches so there was no packed trail. Deep snow will wear you down, even on cross country skis. Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2
Russell, I agree with both area and weather, but I believe I would have chosen snowshoes for unbroken snow as deep as your photos show. Still, I envy you.
