Hi Guys, Day late and a Dollar short, but lets make up for it. The lack of a couple hundred working SD9043MACs has forced UP to bring a lot of older power back online. Here a Dash 8-40C is coming into Roseville Dead in Consist to be worked on and brought up in the shops. Meanwhile, a number of the SD59MXs assigned to Roseville have disappeared. Presumably down to Colton. So they are bringing old 3 window SD60Ms back into something that resembles serviceable for locals and turns.
Train SACR passing Fairfax, IA. 3/3/14 Bad wheel from an eastbound UP coal train. This wheel caused 6 broken rails in a 30 mile stretch. A jackhammer on rails. 3/3/14 An SD60M widecab on an eastbound train in Cedar Rapids, IA. 3/3/14.
I notice the center section of the hood does not quite match. And the lettering is more faded than the rest. I wonder...?
Didn't notice that at first, but the lettering and striping do seem to be reflecting differently on the doors. A trick of the light, perhaps?
How about another image I found of mine of DLRR #3 Fred Gurley coming into New Orleans Square built in 1894 by Baldwin. Celebrating the 120th birthday this year...my personal favorite at Disneyland, love watching this locomotive operate. -HL
