I so badly wanted to go chase 4014 and 844, but I was stuck in North Dakota. I did catch an Amtrak heritage unit in Minot leading number 7 on Saturday.
They did paint a few in that scheme. Here is 822 on the 40th anniversary display train in Longview, Texas back in 2012. Could not get a good shot of it.

Wow, those DO look nice. Thanks for posting. I've never seen one in the Heritage Scheme before. Amtrak's wee-hour local schedule makes most of what they run in my area a mystery to me. Per Ken's shot, I still like the styling of the F40PHs, looking something like a modernized F Unit.
