Still busy making lemonade, but things are looking up. Donner Snow fleet GP38N 580 is sporting new PTC equipment and a new all weather window.
Was down in GA again this week and caught some shortline action. Pioneer Rail GP16 on Midville, GA. Also caught some idle power over at the Georgia Central Shop

Too hot to be out railfanning, so into the old files I went. In Columbia, SC in February 1993, CSX crosses the Broad River with a chip train lead by SD-50 8630 on former Columba, Newberry & Laurens trackage. The CN&L was owned by the ACL.
A friend of mine, Tom Marsh, took this photo. The ex MKT New Braunfels and ex KCS Good Cheer (on a flat car) are finally on the move to end up in Austin, Texas. I have spent many hours in the last year helping get these cars ready to move. The New Braunfels will be put into service on the Hill Country Flyer tourist train right away. The funds paid by the Austin Steam Train group to lease it will be put into restoring the Good Cheer which will then be put into service there also.
A BNSF bare table passing the new construction at Tunnel 10 on Tehachapi: Note the signals now in place, but turned away from the track.
Looking for a new background photo, I ran across this one from Mt. Rainier Scenic, a triple header back in 2011. I kinda like it.
