Starting a little early since tomorrow I fly off for my MIL's funeral in Knox Indiana....Should be....well, lets hope I can see it all through my kid's eyes. And hey, NS runs through town. anyway, from a few weeks ago, the Caboose motel at Castle Crags Ca. Just outside of Dunsmuir. [/IMG]
That's a beautiful photo - nicely framed and a great backdrop to boot. I could sit there for hours just looking at the scenery and relaxing.
YoHo, great shot. My daughter and I were motoring back to Oregon after her son's graduation in June, and I just had to stop there at the Railroad Park to show her the caboose motel and the great view of Castle Crags. I have stayed there in the past, great experience, super food in the dining car. I'd recommend it to any railfan. Sorry to hear of your mother in law's passing.
It was interesting to still see a number of the old cantilever signal bridges on the old Santa Fe route through Kansas and Colorado.
It is. They've sure upgraded a lot of stuff up this way. What is the status of this line, as far as importance to their system these days?
Took this shot of NS intermodal crossing York Rd near Dillsburg, PA, only to realize as I took my phone down, the NS GORAIL unit was 2nd in line:rats:
A fully restored PRR caboose at the Wabash Valley RR museum, Terre Haute Ind http://wvrrm.org/ I got so shots inside, but they didn't come out
The yellow one is Turner depot. It sat about 10 M east. The one on the left is an elevated tower awaiting restoration and the stand to be built.
