Back in September 2015 I posted a thread : " Conundrum or just stupid? ". In this thread I posted my wish to return to modeling Norfolk Southern in HO scale but how I felt guilty a bought leaving my G scale layout after ten years of work. Well it happened, I gave in and chased the Norfolk Southern HO scale . By October 2015 I had convinced my wife to let me have the junk room for an Ho layout and by Mid. Oct. I had finally set on a track plan that offered everything I wanted. That was no easy task. Ground was broken or plywood and bench work was in place by early Nov. 2015. Track word started in Dec 2015 and by early Jan 2015 several key buildings where in place and the first trains started to run. Not one drop of scenery is in place but most of the bugs are out of the main line. The yard runs really nicely and branchlike is 50% in. Here is a 15 min. video that shows a little rail action on Norfolk Sothern's Val Valley subdivision.

Thanks for posting Sean! If you were able to get all that done since November, I ought to have trains running on my layout in the next month or so.

Awesome. I agree on not leaving one scale for another. When I switched back to HO european I kept enough N scale for a future layout.

Please tell me you won't repaint that N&W diesel loco! ;) Some of us get weak knee'd seeing an N&W logo.

Your layout is kind of surprising. First I saw the plastic rail joiners, I haven't seen those on a layout in ages. After that I saw your Atlas power controls; another old school kind of thing. I thought that was kind of cool.

How do you locos handle the grade up to your second level?

Not to worry my friend, N&W and Southern units are safe on my layout! Here are a few update videos from the layout.

Nice fix on the grade, and it increases your travel time to the upper yard. :)
