Thank you for all of the help.
We will be starting the layout next weekend. The first stage will be a 4'X32' elevated classification/staging yard. Effectively we will be building it like a deck, pressure treated supports, bracing and cross members, the only variable will be our ability to get the red cedar we want for the decking. We will be using 5/4'sX6 for the decking, and if we can't get the cedar, we will use pressure treated. My question today is this: How do I secure Aristo .332 Brass track to the surface? I am reluctant to let it float, even though I will be ballasting it. Suggestions would once again, be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

Do you have a track plan for the forthcoming layout?

I've never built a G scale layout. Do the tracks have holes in the center of some of the ties at intervals? I know that Atlas code 55 N gauge track does. If he Aristo track doesn't I'd drill a hole in the center of every 5th tie or so, and then drive small finishing nails through the holes to anchor the track.

    Hope this helps!

As of this time I only have a plan for the yard, as I wanted to make sure that it would fit in the required space. I will be making a modification to one end of the yard so I can build a storage shed that is secure, at the end of the day, this will probably be a three track storage area, with the tracks each about 12' long. This storage area will be attached to my shed. For temporary storage, this should meet my needs. I will design it in such a way to insure the security, as well as provide easy access. For more permanent storage, I will use my present storage area in my Garage. BTW, any suggestions for securing the track to PT wood, Cedar, or HDPE?
As always, any suggestions are really appreciated.
    Thank you.
